{"id":313,"date":"2007-11-08T21:57:53","date_gmt":"2007-11-08T21:57:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/soleildesign.com\/wordpress\/?p=313"},"modified":"2013-02-03T22:02:26","modified_gmt":"2013-02-03T22:02:26","slug":"swbw-logo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/soleildesign.com\/wordpress\/swbw-logo\/","title":{"rendered":"Southwest Women&#8217;s BusinessWorks! logo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?--><\/p>\n<p>We designed this logo for a conference and trade show for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wbcsouthwest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Women\u2019s Business Council Southwest.<\/a>\u00a0They needed something strong, but not flashy and not overly feminine. We went with a text treatment only \u2014 no graphics; as you can tell, just because there aren\u2019t any graphics doesn\u2019t mean a logo has to be bo-ring. We varied which letters were upper case and which were lower to achieve an attractive and interesting balance. It\u2019s a little like putting a puzzle together \u2014 but we get to create our own pieces! We chose to eliminate the dot over the i in business because it wasn\u2019t necessary for readability (our brains are amazing at filling in the blanks in cases like this), and would have interfered with the text above.<\/p>\n<p>We like the choice of Mrs Eaves type family since it has a nice delicate quality to its serfis (the feet at the end of the characters) and has a flowing italic, but doesn\u2019t scream\u00a0<strong>lipstick<\/strong>.
